I started my first JOB yesterday, at the Raffles city convention centre, banquet waitressing really. I got to find out what really goes on behind the scenes in a hotel. The staff entrance leads to a series of subterrainian tunnels with people all rushing about getting from here to there ( it;s like everyone knew where they were supposed to go except me ) But although i was rather lost and more than a bit blur most people were very helpful. I found out where to get the uniform ( white hotel jacket really ) and where the locker/changing rooms where. With help i managed to find my way to the atrium function room where i was to be doing drink service for the night. I was the only person who was a first timer, everyone else there ( most of whom were girls and between the ages of 16-21) seemed really experienced and knew what to do !
I was paired with a friendly auntie who gladly showed me the ropes. ( i must admit it was a good chance to practice my rather rudimentry mandarin) We were to be serving at a wedding, two waitresses for 2 tables. ( or rather 3 if you count the food server) Since it was my first time, i was only asked to clear the glasses for the pre-dinner drinks, it actually seemed to drag on for ages and it was wierd but for the first time i was one of those people who clear your empty glasses or you ask to get a drink. Yes i could hardly believe it myself. Finally, everyone moved on to the atrium room and the wedding dinner began. Designated to be drink server, i spent the evening refilling glasses with coke or warm water or tea, somehow the evening seemed to drag on for VERY long. AND i didn't have dinner. Anyways, some of the food didn't look terribly appetizing and i was glad i didn't have to eat it. Later on, i got to be the one who asks " can i clear the plate ?" wow never thought i would ever have to say that !
The dinner ended around 11pm ( supposed to be 10) and so signed off and joined the stream of people rushing around to get changed, gather their belongings and sign out again. RUSHED to the MRT and arrived at around midnight, waited 10 mins for train and took it to newton.
An exhausting but fun night, a great learning experience, i know have greater respect for service staff.

sorry for NOT updating for AGES, just been a) lazy b) something was wrong the com and i couldnt log in
Also i was away on holiday to hk, beijing and Bali ( not nessecarily in that order ) I rode in bali, went out galloping on the seminyak beach, i have to admit it was rather scary but hey where else would b a better place to let loose than along an empty stretch of beach ? Also the villa we stayed at had our own POOL and we had our breakfast cooked and on the table every morning
Hong kong was cool. did some shopping ( not much ) go around entirely by MTR ( an exact replice of MRT just different names) and bus. Bought my sister and mum's x'mas gifts there. I liked the temperature ( in the teens )
Ok, don;t really feel like blogging much, though i know i should and it;s a way to still stay connected to people which i really like but am just not good at. YES i should get my links up, i will, just lazy to add everything.
Everyone is going back to school, except me ( and some other ppl ) i guess i will kinda miss it, i mean it will b the first time in what, 10 years ? when i entered primary school ? wow a lot happens in 10 yrs. I suppose i will miss the sort of excitement of returning to assemblies, homework or rather the shock and horror at realising you forgot to do your homework and then rushing like shit to finish it before her class , sleeping in class, going to the library during chinese, teachers constantly telling us how we are sooo not going to make it ( ahah ok maybe only some ) , realising who your true friends are...... ok ok i'm getting nostalgic here, but i guess that is basically my school year 2006, and yes i think i really am going to miss the whole school experience, i;ll miss wearing my uniform ( ok i still don't ) , singing the school song ( somewhat still don't ) prefects ( GET OUT of course i wouldn;t miss that ) getting my bag checked every fucking time i was late ( in thompson ) i mean i understand if you want to check for like weapons and stuff but handphones and correction tape ! give me a fucking break ! at least the handphone thing stopped. And um, pardon the language i never say it in real life.

Ok, back to blogging. So sorry for not updating. I joined BTSC !!!
If you dont already know
I'm leasing songkla ( who can be a bit of a monster ) i'm just really trying to connect with him, to get him to know who is the boss. Though it is frustrating and though i know maybe it wuold have been a better idea to lease someone else like we are on for example. But, what is done is done.
Anyway, i'm just glad to have started regular jumping lessons again. As of friday. At lease he can jump. I'm going to hong kong this weekend ! leaving on friday coming back on sunday. A bit like a weekend rl trip. I'm going to go riding there, and buy a new helmet.

Grad night pics !
I have to say, grad night( although a week ago ) was SUCH AN UNBELIEVABLE BLAST !!!
It went by TOOOO quickly, barely were we mingling outside the ballroom when the whole dinner ended and miss IJ had been crowned !
