Words can only BEGIN to describe the UNFUCKING-BELIEVABLE time i had !!!!!!!!1
It rocked!!!! I mean a) i got to see world class riders in ACTION b) i got Beezie Madden's SIGNATURE !!!!!!!!!!! c) I got to see world class rider WARMING UP ( back stage) UMM can i please name drop? Ian Millar, Beezie Madden, Jill Henselwood, Michael Whitaker, William Whitaker, Nick Skelton HELLO??? OMG OMG ok i understand i am going slightly insane, please forgive me Just think of meeting of your fave celebs Ok, i shall start from the beginning. Since the show wouldnt start still evening me and rodrigo wanted around the fairgrounds, there were tons of stalls, i got a pair of gloves from greenhawk, found my dream helmet, got some magazines, and a Roots Equestrian jacket ( and you didn't think roots had an EQUESTRIAN LINE!!!! I also got the autograph of Jacqueline Brooks, a Canadian national dressage team rider, apparently she nows a Amanda Ferguson from Saddle club...... small world huh? Later went to the stadium, it was quite big, but not amazingly huge. There was going to be both show jumping AND dressage so i was pretty HAPPY. There were some show classes first, hackney pony, belgian 6-hitch , which was really amazing, i mean a 6-hitch? i'm really glad these kinds of show classes still go on today, preserving the traditions of yesteryear in todays modern, fast-paced ever changing urbanised society. There was also the 4-in hand coach class which was REALLY elegant. Imagine, an 19th century coach , when ppl used to get around by carriage, it was really elegant and prestigious, there were like 6 ppl on the coach, even 2 footmen. Some coaches even kept wine and cheese at the back of the coach and displayed for the judge when he came around for the inspection. Finally the dressage started. GRAND PRIX FREESTYLE dressage!!! does it get any better? Jacqueline Brooks was riding and she WON!!!! against Cindy Ishoy. Yep, i thought that Jacqueline did a better job, her piaffes were better. But it was just so stunning and fantastic to watch. Then came the show jumping, the highlight of the night. The jumps were 1.4 to 1.6m. Watched the riders walking the course as well. Rodrigo got the order sheet so we could see who was riding first. The riders were all soo wonderful, but Ian Millar was definetely a cut above the rest, the way he went into the ring......... fantastic rider he was the only one who got a completely clean round with the fastest time. There were actually a lot of families competing, Michael and William Whitaker, nephew and uncle combination, william whitaker is only 18!! i mean 18 and competing at World Cup qualifying games?? talk about AMAZING. No wait, i know someone who is prix st george at 16, what's so bad? So after all the competitors had ridden, there was going to be a jump-off , between 5 riders. Me and rodrigo snuck off to the other end of the stadium, near the back stage area. I thought we woudn't be able to get through, but me and him just waltzed in. OMG soo fantastic!!!!!!! i mean top class riders!! just rode and walked past us!!!! i was so WOW. I mean WERE DO YOU GET TO SEE OLYMPIC RIDERS WARMING UP??????? A real amazing experience !! After that we walked out to watch the jump-off, OMG i saw Beezie Madden, i mean i have POSTERS of her on my wall! she was just standing 2 freaking metres away from me!!!!! i still haven't gotten over it! i plcucked up enough courage to ask for her signature ! wow..... and they seemed so normal....... an experience that MONEY cannot FUCKING BUY |
