Born in Sg, survived seven years of IJ, escaped to canada for the miraculous rebirth.. likes to say she found self there, But well when can we reach self actualization? now a waterloo student. 110% horse mad, was practically born on the back of a horse ( or rather wishes she was) horses are my favourite thing.

BEING BAAACKK

Ok, this is my first offical post back in Singapore !!

Spent the first weekend back at in Singapore at Ridersldoge...... that place holds a whole lot of memories for me, the time of an unforgettable era. The time of annabelle, me and nat going up to riderslodge for lessons...... staying weekends and holidays there riding. I mean i have been going there for years now, since 2001/02 up till 2008. That is seven years..... seven years my life. From being a young little 12 or 13 year old to an 18 yr old now..... How much i have grown and how much has happened in that spanse of time. I miss those days..... Well, the group has all sort of disbanded now... annabelle rides at polo club ( at least i think she still does) nat has got champ at saddle club and i? well i joined pony club at rode at saddle and polo club then moved to study overseas....

It was dead quiet the friday that i went, i expected there to be more ppl, but anyway i had a private lesson with jay on a new horse called tyson, a 15hh tb bay whom reminded me a bit of diamond ( RIP). He was easy to get rounded and moving but i had to work a lot on transitions and he has a bouncy trot so a sitting trot is quite terrible. After that i had another lesson o another horse called artic, who was pretty nice as well, just that he bucks in the canter a little and has a bigger canter stride. I got to shower artic, have not showered a horse in AGES!! the thing about riding in the tropics is it is sooo dreadfully HOTTT!!!!!!! i was dripping in sweat and so was poor artic ( no he literally dripping wet from sweat) so a refreshing shower was much deserved then i hand grazed him in the sun for 15 minutes till he dried off. Was suppsoed to have a jumping lesson but it rained unfortunately...

The next morning i had an 8am lesson on big splendour, nat's ex fave horse. As i was riding down to the arena i noticed 3 girls, all about 12-14 yrs old and i was suddenly reminded of myself when i was their age....... a close-knit bunch of friends driving up to malaysia to ride... exchanging horror stories about their various assigned mounts, squeeling with happiness or throwing a tantrum with your assigned mount or begging to have your horse exchanged...... then after the ride telling each other how your ride went... ahh memories. Well i suppose there will always be the next generation going up, someone else bitting at your heels to be at your positions, in some ways it makes me happy that our " work" is being continued and there wil be more nats, annabelles, katie and phoebes to come.
